Indonesia *Tanah Air*

Typical Indonesian Bathroom

From left to right we have: blue plastic tub (ember) for clothes washing, square white main tank (bak), green water scooper (gayung), small tank (bak kecil), and squat toilet (kloset). When bathing one pours and splashes water over oneself from the main tank using the gayung. The tanks are shown nearly empty to reveal the passive crossflow pipe between them. The squat toilet has a water seal like most modern ceramic toilets; you clean up and flush with water scooped from the small tank with the gayung. A hook on the wall is a big plus for hanging up your clothes.
